August

August has been a crazy fun month in the Magleby household. Here are some random happenings from the last month...

We have started giving Olivia graham crackers to eat. She is very messy with them, but I figure that she will figure it out eventually. The other day she had stuck almost a whole cracker into her mouth and I got a little concerned that she was going to choke if she put any more in her mouth and took the cracker away. She didn't like that and decided to throw a little fit- crying and kicking. I hope that it is not a sign of things to come as she get older. Where do they learn to do that kind of stuff?

My sister Becky and her little girl came to visit earlier this month and got to stay for three weeks. She was in Utah for Olivia sealing and blessing and wanted to take Sophie to Temple Square. Sunday after church we loaded in the Tahoe and all of us went up to Salt Lake.

Livy with her Daddy.

Sisters and their babies (we missed you Jenny, Cindy, and Taylor)
I love this picture of my parents and Livy. You can tell they adore each other:

My family stayed down a couple of extra days and we went to Seven Peaks and then the girls spent the night in Midway and went shopping in Park City. I have decided that Olivia is part fish- she loves the water. She spent almost three hours kicking and splashing in the pool, but she wasn't really sure about the slide. I think she wore herself out because she slept for almost eight hours that night.

In Idaho three weeks ago, we had all of the granddaughters together on my side of the family together for the first time. None of the pictures had all three girls looking at the camera, but they turned out cute anyway. This one is one of my favorites-Livy must of thought Taylor looked tasty.

Families are Forever

This weekend we were able to take Olivia to the Provo Temple and have her become a part of our Forever Family. For those of you who are not part of the LDS faith- We believe that the family is not only together on this earth, but in the life to come and the temple is the key to this. We were surrounded by friends and family who love us and Olivia. She is a such sweet little spirit that has come into our lives and changed us for the better.

Where it all took place

I love those beautiful brown eyes.

It's Official...

Today is a very special day for our family-Little Olivia is officially (under the State Law of Utah) a member of our family. We had our finalization today with Judge Davis. He had a full docket when we scheduled this a month or so ago, but likes proceeding over adoptions and fit us in. He made it such a special day for us. He made Scott swear under oath that Olivia would be a raised Cougar Fan and he even took us back into to his chambers so that we could see the great view from his office. Scott's friend Trent is an attorney and he (along with his wife Liz) flew all the way from New York this morning to handle this for us.

Judge Davis let Olivia borrow his robe for a few minutes...
but she was more interested in his gavel.

We are so happy that Olivia is part of our family.

Busy but uneventful...

is the best way to describe our week. I don't think we are alone everyone is busy with work, family, life in general. Sometime I need to slow down and just enjoy the little things... like my precious baby girl that will be six months tomorrow. That is why I did not go into work on Saturday like I had planned and our little family spent the day together. Nothing exciting- we ran some errands, cleaned house, played with Livy, took a family nap, and had a picnic in the park for dinner-but for me it was just what I needed.

Here are some pictures from our picnic last night:

According to Scott, BYU football starts in 35 days- not that he's counting :). For the opening game, the Cougars are traveling to Texas to play Oklahoma in the new Cowboys stadium and we get to go! To get ready we made a stop at the BYU bookstore yesterday so Daddy could get his baby some official gear... here she is sporting her new BYU hat and shirt along with her new friend Marvin the Monkey who of course has a BYU shirt on. Go Cougars!
