Six Months

Little Nathan is now six months old and cuter than ever.  At his six month appointment last week he was 17 pounds 4 ounces and 26.5 inches long.  Here are some things about Nathan at six months:
  • His bottom two teeth have broken through.
  • He talks in his sleep, especially right before he wakes up.
  • He is getting up on his hands and knees trying to crawl.  So far he can only go backwards and that is more a scoot than a crawl.
  • He is starting to sleep through the night-most nights at least seven hours.
  • He has a smile for most people who talk to him.
  • He has like most solid foods other than green beans and carrots.
  • His sister makes him laugh like no one else.
  • He only likes to snuggle when he's tired.
  • He is finally liking the bath tub.

Official

Nathan is now officially part of our family. On Wednesday after Scott promised to raise Nathan as a Cougar fan Judge Davis signed all of the paperwork and Nathan is officially our son. Wednesday was only for the benefit of the courts because he was our son the moment we meet him- I truly can not imagine our little family without him.

With Olivia's finalization we did not realize that we could invite our family to the proceedings. Judge Davis grew up with my father in law and we got chastised for not having anyone there. We learned our lesson and invited all of our family that was in the area. I think it was fun for the kids to visit the courtroom and Judge Davis was great- letting everyone try on his robe and sit in his chair.

Spanish Fork has a new splash park and one day last week while I was off the kids and I went to play.  Olivia wasn't quite sure at first, but once she realized she could get wet she loved it.  Nate also had a great time splashing.  The kids had such a great time we took daddy on Saturday.  What a fun way to beat the July heat.

We have been working on getting Nate's room done.  I am so excited to see it finished.  Here is step one board and baton up.  Amy put on her caulking gloves (never done it before, but we figured it out) and now we are ready for paint.  I am hopeful that we will get it done this week.

Happy Birthday America

We love the 4th of July at our house- in fact it is Scott's favorite holiday.  This year we celebrated for three days straight.  On Saturday morning we got up before the sun and went to see the balloon festival in Provo.  After the ballons we drove to Idaho to spend the weekend with my family.  Matt and Cindy blessed Landon on Sunday so it gave us a great excuse to get together.  On Saturday night Scott and I left the kids with Mom and Brittany and went to dinner to celebrate our anniversary.  Sunday we went to the blessing and then had lunch at Matt's house followed by fireworks at grandmas.  On Monday we went to carnival, had a pony ride and parade in Menan, had dutch oven dinner at Matt's, and then watched the fireworks along the river.  Olivia had talked about the fireworks all day, but when it was finally time to see them she was so tired she didn't make it through-too much excited, but so much fun!
