A Quick Trip to Idaho

My brother Matt and his wife Cindy are expecting a baby girl next month and so we made a quick trip to Idaho for a baby shower for little Taylor. Last time we went to Idaho in March Livy did pretty well, but had a melt down each way. This time we left Friday night at bed time and she slept the whole way there and left this afternoon at nap time and she slept the whole way home- I think this will be our trip schedule to Idaho from now on.
It was fun to see family and spend some time in Idaho. I have been craving a hot dog roasted over the fire (I know its weird, but it is really good)for weeks so it was perfect that we got to have a weenie roast on Saturday night. Pics from the weekend:

Livy and Great Grandma Howell:
Although Liv slept the whole way to Idaho once we got there she did not want to sleep. Thus this picture of a very tired Mommy....

Uncle Matt, Aunt Cindy (and baby Taylor) with Livy:

And here is one more picture from the week... On Tuesday Olivia and I went with Scott's family (minus Scott because he is still on crutches) to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house. It was beautiful inside and out. Olivia is such a lucky girl she will get to see the inside of three temples by the time she is six months old: Draper, Oquirrh Mountain and Provo. We have our finalization for Olivia's adoption scheduled on August 11 and our sealing in the Provo temple on August 15. We can't wait...

Summer at Last

Today is the first official day of Summer and the sun actually stayed out all day so it really felt like summer was here.

It has been a little crazy at our house this week. On Thursday Scott had surgery on his foot to repair a torn tendon and to shave off a bone fragment. This surgery has made me really appreciate Scott. I am pretty independent and like to think that I can take care of myself, but since Scott is confined to the couch I realize how much I rely on him. I am finding out that it is much easier to take care of Olivia with two people. Scott also usually mows the lawn, takes out the trash, helps makes dinner, and number of other things that I have taken for granted. I am so lucky to have him as my partner- we make a good team.

The foot (and Scott) are hanging in there. Scott is doing pretty well on crutches, except for the stairs and he has decided that it is easier to slide down and crawl up rather than trying to navigate them on crutches.

Family, a parade, and the Y

Most of my family came to visit this weekend. On Saturday we went to the Art City parade. Each year our little town holds Art City days and there are events all week including the parade, a carnival, and fireworks. Mom and Chelsey came with us to the parade. Livy was a little too young this year, but next year she is going to love it.

This is what Livy thought about the parade:

Chelsey and I have been trying for two weeks to hike the Y; however, it has been raining nearly every day. Friday night there were only a few clouds and we figured we could make it up and back before it started raining. Livy loves being outside so I put her in her front pack and we started climbing. We climbed for 1.24 miles. I did not realize how steep it was and I am really really really out of shape, but it was a lot of fun.

Me, Chelsey, and Livy on top of the Y.
The view was incredible- you could see for miles and miles.

Me and Liv ready to hike.
I think this little girl is going to be my hiking buddy.

Four Month Pictures

Here are some of my favorites from Livy's four month photo shoot. There were so many that I really like it was hard to chose favorites. Annie did such a great job even though Livy was fighting us the whole time. One of these days she is going to start liking her picture taken (at least I hope).

Four Months Already

Little Olivia turned four months old on Wednesday. I took her in for her four month check up on Thursday and she is 14 pounds 8 ounces and 24.5 inches. She is getting to be such a big girl. Here are some milestones at four months:

-She can roll from her stomach to her back.
-She has started to reach for toys and can pick up some of them on her own.
-She is teething (and drooling like crazy).
-She has a very ticklish neck. She giggles every time I wash her neck or when I kiss her neck.
-She is blowing raspberries and bubbles
-She knows Mommy and Daddy's voice
-She smiles, coos, and "talks" a lot.
-She gets cuter everyday!
