Hiking and Football

I have wanted to hike up to Timpanogos Caves for a couple of years, but something has come up each time we planned to go. The Caves are only open until mid-October. I figured there was no time like the present so Saturday morning we put Olivia into the front pack and headed up American Fork Canyon. The trail is about 1.5 miles up in which you climb about 1,000 feet-so it is a little steep. Poor Scott (who handled foot surgery in July) was hating me by the end of the day, but I think he even had a good time. Here are some pictures from the hike...

Inside the caves. I was really impressed with the amount of caves, stalagmites, stalactites, ect that we got to see. I envisioned a little cave were you walk in and then walk out, but this was a series of caves where you had to stoop and crawl through crevices. I totally loved it!

Scott 1/4 of the way up the trail- doesn't he look happy to be there :).

Me and Livy 3/4 of the way to the top. She really loves being outside.

After our caving adventure.

After we went hiking we went to the BYU Football game. It was a very very depressing game- we don't talk about it at the moment. Brittany did get a couple of cute pictures of Olivia- here is one...

Mama's Girl??

Olivia has become a mama's girl in the last couple of weeks. I think is because I have been able to spend a lot of time with her on our trip to Texas and when my family was in town for her sealing. You would think that her first words would be Mama but as you can see from this video that is not the case...

She is such a chatterbox. The talking in the video is very common and is usually done very loud. She has a set of lungs on her and is not afraid to use them to let us know she is not happy about something. I can't believe that she is seven months old. She learns something everday and it is so much fun to watch learn new things. She is almost crawling and her two front teeth on the bottom are threatening to break through any day. I wish they would hurry and get here because she has been a little bit grumpy since we got back from Texas. I miss my sweet little Livy.

Deep in the Heart of Texas

It all happened in Arlington, Texas, September 5, 2009 in the new Cowboy's 1.3 billion dollar stadium. The 75,437 fans present didn't think it could happen, but BYU beat 3rd ranked Oklahoma University 14 to 13 and WE WERE THERE!!!

Thursday morning we flew from Provo to Dallas to spend a fabulous weekend in Texas. Thursday night we had dinner and toured the new Cowboy's Stadium. Wow! is the only thing that I can say to describe this place. The picture below shows the field as they were preparing it for game day. The screen that you see in the picture is 60 yards long and 7 stories high and in high def. Most of the 80,000 seats are padded, there are 3,000 high def TV's in the stadium, and there are over 300 suites that probably cost more than I will make in my lifetime.
We stayed at the Gaylord Texas in Dallas along with the rest of the Cougar Club. One of the things we did while we were there was take Olivia swimming. She loved it of course.

Olivia was the only baby in our group and everyone loved her. She was definitely the most popular one on the trip and everyone wanted to hold her. She was such a trouper... we dragged her around Texas for three days and she was happy most of the time. She even slept for 8-9 hours each night- probably because we wore her out.

While in Texas we were able to visit Scott's Aunt Vicki who lives in Flower Mound. She took us shopping in Dallas where we visited the American Girl doll store and then headed back to her house. Olivia loved the puppies.

Friday night we went to the Circle R ranch were we were fed BBQ, had a wagon ride, saw a rodeo, and got to meet Cosmo:

Saturday was game day. We all put on our BYU blue- Olivia looked especially cute that day with two pigtails in her hair. Her hair on top is getting so long, but it is still pretty thin on the sides- hopefully it will grow in soon.

Before the game we went to old town Grapevine to do a little more shopping with Aunt Vicki. Olivia got really tired of shopping and decided to take a nap...

Here we are at the Stadium right before the game:
